Tip of the Week #1

Have you just found your dream t-shirt that you absolutely must have and then you realize that your on Zazzle (UK) instead on Zazzle (US)! All you need to do is go to the address bar and replace the .co.uk with .com, it’s that simple. 

Zazzle is now available in the US (.com), Canada (.com.ca), UK (.co.uk) and Australia (.com.au).

Alex Pardee is a surrealist artist from California, he is most well known for drawing the artwork for ‘In Love and Death’ an album by Utah based rock band, The Used.

His ‘Escaped Convict(ion)’ piece fits perfectly onto a skateboard deck and really shows off the abilities of this unusual creator. As well as printing his works onto planks of wood, Purdee has also released a comic book entitled ‘The Ugliest Fairy’ and has dabbled in some non-child friendly toy making.

His past works include this monsterous looking Smurf (below), which upon release sold out within hours. More of Pardee’s strange and sometimes twisted drawings and paintings can be seen on his website, ‘Eye Suck Ink‘. 

Mondo have designed this cool dot screen image of Cuddles, a leveret/bunny type character that is probably the most ‘loveable’ of the Tree Friends.

If your into your adult cartoons such as South Park, The Simpsons and Family Guy, still proceed with caution as this series is a lot more vulgar and violent!

Most of you will recognize at least one piece of work by Fairey without even knowing it; he was the man behind the most popular Obama image during his electoral campaign, the ‘Hope’ poster. This image was released as a 600 edition print in late 2008 and has fetched in excess of $6,000 at auction.

The very British Criterion Games team do a weekly podcast which is available through iTunes; to date they are at episode 32. If your interested and haven’t seen them yet, you better get moving as you’ve got a lot of catching up to do.
